Discover the 15th century Manor of Vitanval, Notre-Dame des Flots Chapel on the cliff, the unusual “Pain de Sucre” and the seaside neighbourhood, “Le Nice Havrais”, founded in 1905 by Georges Dufavel. From 1914 to 1918, Sainte-Adresse hosted the Belgian government in exile; numerous street names , monuments and souvenirs commemorate this moment of the past. |

On January 18th 1035, in the Charter established in Fécamp by Robert 2nd, the father of William the Conqueror, the name “Octovilla” was mentioned for the first time.
To be discovered: the 11th and 19th century Church in the town centre, within the Church a beautiful pietà and an outstanding 17th century wooden Virgin.

At the centre-point of the town, the MONTIVILLIERS ABBEY, which underwent top-to-bottom restoration in 2000, a listed historical monument, proposes an original tour-spectacle that will enthral young and old alike. You will be able to wander through the cloister, the capitulary (ecclesiastical chapters) room, the dormitories, and the famous refectory, guided by the latest audiovisual techniques, to discover the life of the nuns, set to the rhythm of prayer, reading and work.
At the end of your tour, you will be able to contemplate models and an audiovisual projection in the 16th Century dormitory, to discover the beauty of Normandy's abbeys.
Also take the time to enjoy the ABBEY walking tour, a self-guided pedestrian circuit with commentary in your own language (adult or child's version) to discover the old town of Montivilliers and its history.

Historic cradle of the Seine Estuary, this little town has kept a rich Norman heritage of the 13th to the 18th century. Numerous half-timbered houses, Saint-Martin gothic Church from the 15th century, the Museum of the Priory (former “Portuguese inn”, 15th century) and City Hall (17th century castle). The heritage tour takes you across the city, discovering the old ramparts which have been excavated several times.
A lot of events punctuate the life of Harfleur, here are the most famous ones: “la Fête de la Scie” in April: a large historic carnival which originated in the 16th century and which has been sketched by some of the most famous comics’ drawers such as F. Schuiten and F. Boucq for the past 2 years; and the Christmas market, on the first weekend of December, gathering together 90 stalls during 2 days.

- Night summer markets every Tuesday night (from 6 to 10) in July and at the beginning of August.

The history of Gonfreville l’Orcher is an integral part of the history of its region, and of its estuary. Between modernity and heritage, the town of Gonfreville l’Orcher has places of history and memory in each one of its neighbourhoods: from the 4th century when the Saxon used to pillage Normandy, to the most recent economic boosts of the region of Le Havre. The industrial era and the settlement of the Bassot factory in Gournay en Caux and the Schneider factory in Mayville have inspired its industrial vocation. Oddly enough, the settling of the petrochemical factories in the Estuary determined the choice for a good quality of life which has made this cute and quiet little town so full of life. The “Philip Morris cigarette camps” still remain in the minds of the inhabitants of Gonfreville l’Orcher since they disrupted the landscape and the life of the city for a while: indeed, as early as November 1944, Americans chose this land to build the largest transit sites of Normandy . A remaining building bears witness to this time at the “Centre de Loisirs René Cance”.
Must see: The Orcher Castle, historic monument towering 90 metres above the Seine and belonging to the Harcourt family; the feudal Castle of Auricher, restored in the 18th century with its “Cour d’Honneur” and surrounded by French style gardens, free visits, terraces perched up on the cliffs. From there, splendid panoramas on the estuary, Le Havre and Honfleur.
Must also see: the octagonal dovecote (16th century), made of stone and flint; the Manor of Bévilliers: beautiful example of the Renaissance style. |

| Le Château d'Etelan |

Château du XVème siècle. Style Renaissance Flamboyante. Situé sur la rive droite de la Seine, entre le pont de Brotonne et de Tancarville, dominant la dernière boucle du fleuve, ce château jouit d'un site exceptionnel.
 Ouvert tous les jours sauf le mardi du 15 juillet au 31 août.
De 14h30 à 18h30 (le matin visit du parc) - dernière visite 18h.
Et sur rendez-vous pour les groupes de Pâques à la Toussaint.
