In 2005, the fact that two river cruise ships followed the impressionist itinerary on the Seine river marked an important step in the river cruise activity of Le Havre. In 2007, a third ship will call on a regular basis at Le Havre.
The cruise department of the Tourist Office of Le Havre is your partner since we help you put the "Tourism and Shopping" guide at your passengers' disposal on board.

CONNECTING THE PORT TO THE CITY |
A large 9 hectares urban park will be set up, together with a river garden which is going to run alongside the whole length of the re-designed docks of Saint-Nicolas neighbourhood.
This restored area will connect the port to the city and is taking shape step by step :

| |
| 2008 : |
The Aquatic Complex will open its doors in October 2008 |
| |
| 2011 : |
The restored Vauban Docks harbour site will be turned into a massive complex and a leisure centre, focussed on the environment and with a 30.000m² shopping and leisure centre, a 10.000m² garden with a tropical greenhouse, a shopping centre, a multiscreen cinema, a bowling with 10 alleys, thousands of flats, an exhibition area. The Sea and Sustainable Development centre will be a part of this exciting project.
| |
The centre will have a 120 metres high metallic structure, towering over the entire Port of Le Havre, with two huge platforms: a 1.200m² and 55 metres tall platform and a 2.000m² and 90 metres tall one, welcoming permanent exhibitions and housing a restaurant with a panoramic view, allowing visitors to have a 360° view on Le Havre and the Baie de Seine. And on the ground floor: aquariums, 3D screens, weather station. |
