From 10/10/2008 to 08/11/2008
Year 2008 marks the 150th anniversary(birthday) of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Japan and France. More exactly, these modern relations began with the signature, on October 9th, 1858, of the Treaty of peace, friendship and business between both countries.

The Ambassador of Japan, His Excellence Yutaka IIMURA, which wished that this remembrance is the occasion to deepen the exchanges between our two peoples and to give a new run-up to our common history, will honor Le Havre appearances of his presence during the varnishing of the exhibition exposure Albert Brenet: journey in Japan on October 10th, 2008, that is 150 years to the day after the signature of the bilateral Treaty.

Several exceptional events by their scale and their wealth are going to give rhythm to four weeks of remembrance in Le Havre. Free and opened to all, they invite at the same moment the passionate persons and the amateurs of Japan as well as every curious person to meet themselves or to discover this fascinating country and its original culture.

These appearances are registered on the official program of the Embassy of Japan in France and are co-organized in Le Havre by the Honorary Consul of Japan in Le Havre, the Normandy - Japan MINATO association, the association of the maritime and harbour Museum of Le Havre, the French Lines association and the maritime and harbour Union of Havre ( UMEP). They benefit from the support of the City of Havre, from the autonomous Port(Bearing) of Havre, from the CCI of Le Havre, from the Department of Seine-Maritime, Le Havre Best Western Art-Hôtel and Pasino Group Partouche.
