On 15th October 2009, the Docks Vauban, a former 19th century Mecca for industrial and port activities which was dedicated to the storage of cotton, sugar and coffee, will get a new lease of life.
In a neighbourhood undergoing major changes and next to the already famous “Bains des Docks” –a large complex inspired by Roman Baths and designed by the renowned architect Jean Nouvel – the public will be able to take over the twelve rooms of the cinema decorated by Christian Lacroix, the sixty shops with famous brand names, the cultural areas and the restaurants.
To be seen also in the “Docks Vauban”, the “Abysse exhibition” which gathers for the first time in the world, photographs, videos and specimens come back up from the abyssal depths.
